The DGB and the Tenants’ Association are launching their new series on the housing market situation with Cologne-based tenant activist Kalle Gerigk, who has been fighting for many years against displacement, for the right to housing and against homelessness – as an activist with “Right to the City” and chair of “Homeless People with a Future e.V.”. Who is Kalle Gerigk? Why is he so driven by the issue of affordable housing? What are his specific ideas and concepts for improving the catastrophic situation on the housing market?

About the new series of events:
The housing market in Cologne has been under strain for years – rising rents, displacement and a lack of affordable housing characterise the situation for many people in our city. The new event series “An Hour on the Housing Issue”, organised by Mieterverein Köln and DGB Köln-Bonn, examines the situation on the housing market. Each session features a guest who answers questions and outlines their proposed solutions for improving the situation on Cologne’s housing market.
